chong weiKUALA LUMPUR, March 10 – The Badminton World Federation (BWF) has fixed April 11 for a panel hearing in Amsterdam of the doping case involving national shuttler Datuk Lee Chong Wei.

Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) deputy president Datuk Seri Mohamad Norza Zakaria said the hearing would be presided by a three-member panel.

“Our lawyers, Mike Morgan Sports, have been working round the clock for the hearing. BAM is happy with the efforts put in by the lawyers thus far.

“We’ve been given 10 am to 6 pm for the hearing. The lawyers will give their submission to the hearing panel,” he told reporters at the BAM office in Bukit Kiara here Tuesday.

Mohamad Norza said the outcome would be revealed three days after the hearing.

“We believe Mike Morgan will give full evidence to defend Lee Chong Wei, to make sure everything is in complete detail,” he said.

Chong Wei was suspended by the BWF after testing positive for dexamethasone, a banned drug, during a random test at the World Championships in Copenhagen, Denmark, last year.
