PUTRAJAYA, March 13 – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and his wife, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, today hosted a luncheon for visiting Myanmar President U Thein Sein and his wife, Daw Khin Khin Win.
Several cabinet ministers, among them Home Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and Tourism and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Nazri Aziz, as well as Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Dr Ali Hamsa also attended the luncheon, held at a leading hotel here.
The Myanmar delegation included Minister of Foreign Affairs Wunna Maung Lwin; Minister of Information U Ye Htut; Minister of Energy Zay Yar Aung; Minister of Labour, Employment and Security Aye Myint and Minister of Hotels and Tourism Htay Aung.
Thein Sein, who took office as Myanmar President in 2011, is on a two-day maiden state visit to Malaysia at the invitation of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah.
After the lunch, Thein Sein is scheduled to meet several members of the Myanmar community at the residence of the Myanmar ambassador in Jalan Ampang, Kuala Lumpur. He returns to Myanmar later today.
Prior to the luncheon, Khin Khin Win called on Rosmah, and they met for 30 minutes.
