KUALA LUMPUR, March 3 — The Election Commission (EC) will convene a meeting with all political party leaders, including from opposition parties, for a final briefing before the 13th general election is held.
EC deputy chairman Datuk Wira Wan Ahmad Wan Omar said the meeting would be held, among others, to brief the party leaders on the election process, including the voting process.
“Prior to this, we have met and briefed them, including having question and answer session, at the Parliament building and also in Putrajaya last year. We have also conducted several information sessions on laws pertaining to general election, and simulation on the use of the indelible ink,” he told Bernama.
Wan Ahmad reminded all quarters to not disrupt the voting process, like creating chaos, as action would be taken against them, should they do so.
He said those found guilty of committing the offence faced a year’s imprisonment or RM1,000 fine or both.
