Wang Kelian (Perlis), May 28 – Members of Royal Malaysia Police forensic team exhumed yesterday human remains from a grave found at Wang Burma hills at Wang Kelian, Perlis.
Malaysian police were investigating forest and border officials for possible involvement in the trafficking of migrants, following the discovery of 139 graves in a reserve near the Thai border, a senior official said.
Security forces last week found 139 graves, most containing several sets of remains, at 28 human trafficking camps in the forests of Padang Besar town in the state of Perlis.
In Thailand this month authorities discovered several mass graves containing dozens of bodies thought to be of Rohingya and Bangladeshi migrants just over the border from Malaysia in the state of Songkhla.
