GEORGE TOWN, March 8- Penang Barisan Nasional (BN) today urged the state’s chief minister Lim Guan Eng(Pic) to explain the need for a RM6.3 billion undersea tunnel to link the island to the mainland. Penang Umno Youth head Shaik Hussein Mydin, speaking on behalf, said the chief minister himself should explain to the people and not delegate the task to his subordinates.
“Who will be responsible if the project runs into problems. Will he (Guan Eng) then wash his hands off the matter?,” he told reporters here today.
Lim recently announced that the project was necessary to reduce traffic congestion and generate income for the state.
