sothi2KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 27 –  MIC Vice President Datuk S. Sothinathan (pic) today denied issuing any press statement reprimanding the Umno and Barisan Nasional leaders.

He said the press release that is making the rounds in the social media over the last two days was fake which was created by the opposing team in MIC to tarnish his image.

“I deny releasing the press statement” Sothi said firmly.

Sothinathan said he has lodged a police report and wants action taken against the culprits who are behind this.

“I have also informed the Deputy Prime Minister’s office of the false press statement” he further said.

He said an anonymous person going by the name of Rahasia Thothan (secret agent/ambassador) had purportedly written the press statement and had used whatsapp group called Arasiyal (Politics) to spread the false statement.

“There were damaging statements and allegations in the press release criticising BN leaders and it also criticised the government accusing it of neglecting the Indian community. The component parties in BN have good working relationship and this group of unscrupulous people are using others to jeopardise that relationship. I hope appropriate action will be taken against these people,” he said.
