KUALA LUMPUR, April 22 – Voters must realise that only parties which win the most parliament and state seats can set up federal and state governments, not candidates. Agriculture and Agrobased Minister Datuk Seri Noh Omar said today, voters
should not only take into account the factors of candidates in making decisions.
“Voters must remember, if they vote for independents, they are only fulfilling the wishes and appetite of the candidates,” he told participants at a programme to boost agriculture produce at the Farmers Organisation Authority for Hulu Langat near here.
Commenting on some artistes who were contesting in GE13, Noh said they were only looking for publicity. Touching on Selangor, he said the state government of Parti Keadilan Rakyat-DAP-PAS had caused the people in the state to be denied development spearheaded by the federal government.
The state government had rejected the projects of the federal government due to political interests, and the people had to bear the consequences, he added.
“About 17 years ago, we had calculated that the water supply in Selangor would be depleted. So, we planned Langat Dua. The federal government has given its approval and is waiting for the signature, which they (Selangor Government) do not want to give,” he said.
Noh said, the shortage of water supply in Selangor had delayed 440 projects involving 800 factories, 20,000 houses, hotels and schools.
