Maran, Oct 17 – Beginning this year, the Social Security Organisation (Socso) has been paying RM500 in monthly allowance to those taking care of invalid members under its Constant Attendance Allowance Scheme.
Human Resources Deputy Minister Datuk Ismail Abdul Muttalib said, as of August, a total of 5,383 caregivers had received the benefit as part of the government’s effort to ease their burden.
“The allowance is given to lighten the burden of the caregivers in taking care of the invalid Socso member,” he said when met by reporters after attending a sacrificial ceremony organised by the Maran Umno division in Simpang Tajau here today.
Ismail urged those taking care of invalid Socso members to contact Socso for the allowance, by providing the necessary documentation.
