Bangalore, Dec 17 – India is likely to become the third largest aviation market in the world after the United States and China by 2020, Press Trust of India (PTI) reported.
Civil Aviation Department secretary K N Shrivastava said Monday the domestic aviation market is expected to see a major boost in traffic in the next 10 years, with 337 million domestic and 84 million international passengers.
“India is among the fastest growing and currently the ninth largest civil aviation market in the world,” Shrivastava said.
India’s domestic aviation market is the second fastest growing in the world after China and witnesses 117 million domestic and 43 million foreign passengers.
