“For example, if you want to tweet (write something on Twitter), tweet responsibly and do not instigate other people.

“PDRM as the law enforcement agency will take the necessary steps in preventing any irresponsible act, including any element of the Islamic State…this irresponsible statement could disrupt public order,” he said.

Khalid said this at a press conference after attending the 208th Police Day celebrations at the Police Training Centre (Pulapol) here yesterday.

He said the public could lodge a complaint to the Twitter administration or operator if they were not satisfied with any of his (Khalid’s) statements on Twitter.

“I have no problem if my Twitter account is closed/shut down by the Twitter operator because there are many ways to monitor Twitter and the social media…I have a total of 126,000 police personnel to check round-the-clock on all writings, postings and various activities on Twitter and all other social media,” he added.

Meanwhile, the inspector-general of police said PDRM was currently conducting an investigation into a Facebook page statement recently, which allegedly insulted Hindus and the Indian community, he said.

Khalid said the individual who wrote the statement would be investigated and brought to justice.

Meanwhile, he said the police would summon the editor of DAP news portal Roketkini in connection with a defamatory article released on the portal.
