KUALA LUMPUR, March 11- The People’s Progressive Party (PPP) increased its presence in the Kelana Jaya Parliamentary constituency by opening a new branch at Desa Mentari. The opening of the new branch increased the number of branches in the area to 22.
PPP President Datuk Seri M. Kayveas(Pic) said the new branch was located at Block 6 of the Desa Mentari Flats while three more opened in Kelana Jaya last year were at Block 10, Desa Mentari Flats, Pinggiran Subang and Kelana Jaya. Kayveas said the strength of PPP members in the 22 branches in Kelana Jaya was 4,000 while the overall PPP membership throughout the country had increased to 600,000.
“The opening of the new branch is to facilitate the needs of 510 members in the area. The new branch will help serve voters in the area better,” he told reporters after attending a 1Malaysia Peoples’ Gathering, here, today.
Also present was Deputy Information, Communications and Culture Minister Datuk Maglin Dennis D’Cruz who is also a PPP vice president.
