MIC Presidential Re-Election: Nomination Forms issued from today!

MIC Logo and FlagKuala Lumpur – MIC Headquarters began issuing the Nomination forms today for the MIC Presidential Re-Election nominations scheduled to be held on 21st of August. The Chairman of the MIC Presidential Election Committee Datuk B.Sahadevan (pic) in a press statement released yesterday announced that the Nomination forms will be issued at the MIC Headquarters from 2.00 pm today.

The MIC Presidential Re-election committee was formed pursuant to the decision of the MIC 2009 Interim Central Working Committee Meeting held on the 24th of July 2015, Sahadevan further said in his statement.

Nomination on 21st August

The Nominations for the  Presidential Election shall be held on 21 August 2015 from   4.30 pm to 6.30 pm at the Conference Room, 1st Floor, MIC Headquarters,  Menara     Manickavasagam, No: 1, Jalan Rahmat, 50350 Kuala Lumpur.

The candidate for the post of President shall be nominated by means of a Nominations Paper which shall be issued free to all MIC Branch Chairmen and MIC 2009 Interim CWC members.

Each Nomination shall be signed by a proposer and seconded by not less than five other members, all of whom shall be either Chairmen of Branch Congresses or Members of Central Working Committee.

A candidate shall not be validly nominated unless he receives at least fifty (50) nominations.

In the event of a contest a poll will be taken on Sunday,  6th of September 2015 between 10.00 am and 1 pm.

In his press statement Sahadevan also pointed out that Chairmen of MIC Branch Congresses which have successfully completed the branch re-elections conducted by the 2009 CWC and members of 2009 CWC are eligible to vote in the Presidential election.
