Kuala Lumpur – Head of MIC Communications and Public Relations bureau Datuk Seri S.Vel Paari (pic) has warned that attempts are being made by opposition groups to disrupt the MIC Presidential election nominations on 21st August.
“As an attempt to disrupt the Presidential nomination, news has surfaced, that a secret meeting of a group opposed to MIC Acting President Dato Seri Dr S.Subramaniam, was held at a Restaurant in Jalan Ipoh. The purpose is to create chaos, disrupt and push the nomination process into disarray” claimed Vel Paari.
There have been discussions to provoke Dr.Subra’s supporters so that they would retaliate resulting in mayhem alleged Vel Paari.
MIC has announced that the nominations for the Presidential election will be held on Friday 21st August 2015.
“The group’s modus operandi will be, just like how they gathered non-MIC members wearing MIC attire to attend Palanivel’s illegal nomination. Similar tactics will be used to bring groups dressed in MIC attire into MIC Hq to create a ruckus to stop the presidential nomination” Vel Paari said in a statement released today.
“As Palanivel’s faction is still looking to pursue their action via federal court, their feeling is, if Dr Subramanian is elected as President, it will literally end all their hopes. Hence this malicious and drastic measure to disrupt the Presidential nomination was discussed. But from MIC’s point of view, we are not going to be ruffled by this desperate measures of Palanivel’s chess club faction. The true blue MIC members will be there in force to not only to witness the historic event of Dr Subramanian being elected as MIC President but also to safe guard and protect the inner sanctum and the democratic process of MIC against Palanivel’s pretenders” said Vel Paari.
