subraKuala Lumpur – As MIC successfully completes its third phase of divisional elections this week and gears for the most crucial national elections, MIC President Dato Seri Dr S.Subramaniam issued a stern warning to MIC members not to indulge in money politics.

In a press statement released today Dr Subra said “My advice to all members of MIC is to refrain from any type of money politics. A specific committee had been formed to oversee this.  A structured format and clear guidelines on what’ constitutes money politics and wrongful ethics of election will be announced in a few more days. This is my commitment to bring much needed transformation within our beloved party.”

“I would not hesitate to expel or suspend any members of party who had been found guilty of wrongful ethics within our election process. This may include giving promises like state awards, money, positions and so on” Subra further said.

Subra also noted that during the past two weeks he had traveled around the nation and met almost 147 divisions in their respective states and also personally spoke to each and every aspiring division head to bring unity and order into MIC.

“I listened very attentively to their issues and challenges and offered my sincere advice to overcome it. As result we witnessed 103 division chairmen being elected unopposed with only 11 divisions facing full scale office-bearer elections. It is my noble intention to bring unity and foster close relationship among leaders within MIC” he said in his statement.

“As leaders we must place our party interest above our personal agenda . Unity is strength” concluded Subra.
