SOTHINATHAN-MIC-300x199Kuala Lumpur – The CWC meeting which is scheduled to meet tomorrow at 10.00 am at the MIC Headquarters is expected to discuss several issues affecting the party and community and the topic which is expected to be hotly debated is that of the return of the so called ‘Palanivel faction” back into the party.

The CWC meeting tomorrow will be the first since the MIC Re-elections, successfully held on 6 November 2015.

MIC sources said party President Datuk Seri Dr S.Subramaniam is expected to brief the CWC on recent media reports that ‘Palanivel’s faction’ is now willing to return to the party accepting the leadership of Dr Subra. Media reports also claimed that “Palanivel’s faction has given several conditions to be fulfilled before returning to the party”.

Dr SubramaniamTamil daily ‘Makkal Osai’ reported today, that Datuk S.Sothinathan claiming to be the Secretary General of Palanivel faction, has declared that “their faction is ready to accept Dr Subra’s leadership and return to the party’s fold provided they are received with dignity”.

The daily’s report also said that Sothinathan is on a nation-wide tour to meet and explain to their faction’s members and branches about their latest move. The report also said a meeting was held in Butterworth recently where Sothi met and explained to their faction’s members. “We have come down from our earlier stand on the advice of Prime Minister Dato Seri Najib Tun Razak, and in view of fostering unity in the party and strengthening the party” Sothi apparently told the Butterworth meeting.

Recently, selliyal.com reported that “Palanivel’s faction” met and decided to axe Palanivel as their leader and unanimously agreed that Sothinathan and (Tan Sri) S.Balakrishan would henceforth provide the leadership for the faction.

The CWC meeting scheduled tomorrow is expected to debate the issue and make a decision.
