Kuala Lumpur – Slowly coming out from internal conflicts, MIC has embarked on ambitious programmes to put the party back on its feet to help and guide the Indian community. The party has identified 11 programmes for the year 2016 for the development of the Indian community which were unveiled at its last CWC meeting held on Tuesday 5th January 2016.
The following are the 11 point programmes:
Malaysian Indian Youth Capability and Capacity Building Program
To cover development of Skills & Competencies and Economic Capacity Building focusing on NKEA sectors – 1000 participants in line with the goal of “One Home, One Entrepreneur”.
2000 Successful Indian Entrepreneur
To develop 2000 successful Indian entrepreneur in 2016 through a well coordinated programme emphasizing on outcome and success.
Development of 300 Indian SMEs
To promote the leapfrogging and upgrading of 300 Indian SMEs to a higher level of productivity, profitability and success.
Student Engagement Programmes
Student engagement and leadership programs Nationwide which includes tour to all universities to have an open dialog session with Indian students.
To organise Mentor-Mentee program
Program to be conducted in 3 phases (Northern, Central and Southern region) targeting 350 secondary school students per region. Universities students at respective regions will play a role as mentors and be part of the organizing team.
Transformation of 1000 families through mothers
Empowering 1000 mothers via skills, knowledge, attitude development and income enhancement as agents of family transformation.
Special Task Force to be formed
To monitor all aspect of developments under 11th Malaysia Plan for bottom 40% household income group. Mechanism to be developed to ensure all Indians adequate access to all programmes under the various government agencies.
To set up Service Centres nationwide
Focusing at all MIC Parliamentary and State assembly seats.
To set up a political strategy and Implementation Command Centre
Preparation for GE 14 and to function as MIC political command centre.
Education Counseling Centre
To provide community a one stop solution in providing education information and guidance.
Malaysian Indian Education Roadshow (MINDER)
To continue its roadshow throughout the nation to create awareness on the opportunities available under Ministry of Education and Ministry of Higher Education.
