BEAUFORT, March 22 – The freedom of the multi-racial society to organise traditional, cultural and religious programmes is the pillar of the country’s strong unity all these years. In this regard, state Minister of Community Development and Consumer Affairs, Datuk Azizah Mohd Dun(Pic) urged the people of Sabah to be united to preserve unity and harmony, currently enjoyed by all, for mutual benefit.

5“Through the 1Malaysia idea which upholds the policy of inter-community and inter-religious tolerance, it is proven that the strength of unity in the country is successfully defended.

“I am fervently hopeful all the people in the country will preserve unity and be aware of sensitivities among them,” she told reporters after receiving a courtesy call from the Beaufort Buddha Association (PBB) at Limbawang, near here, yesterday.

The visit of the PBB was headed by chairman William Tay and aimed at imparting the latest information on the State and Federal Territory Level Wesak Day Celebration to be held at Pa’ Musa Hall, here, on May 31.
