SERDANG – The deadline for admission application to Form 1 in Maktab Rendah Sains Mara (MRSM) next year has been extended to Dec 4 because the Ujian Pencapaian Sekolah Rendah (UPSR) results are only out tomorrow (Nov 29), Rural Development Minister, Datuk Seri Rina Harun (pic), said today.
Earlier it was announced that it is Nov 30. The decision was taken in order to give students time to apply and avoid problems in changing school and paying the fees.
“The Form 4 admission application deadline will depend on the Form Three Assessment (PT3) examination announcement,” she told reporters while on a walkabout at the Malaysia Agriculture, Horticulture and Agrotourism Show (MAHA 2018).
Application results for 2019 can be checked from Dec 21 at www.mara.gov.com.
“Registration for enrolment in Form 1 begins Jan 14. This will help parents and pupils plan and prepare,” Rina said.
As of Nov 26, she added, the number applying to enrol in Form 1 at MRSM is 69,261, while for Form 4, it is 23,082.
“The number of places available for 2019 at the 54 MRSM are 7,760 for Form 1 and 2,245 for Form 4. We’re concentrating on the B40 group this time,” she said.
