PUTRAJAYA, April 1 – Several leaders of the Barisan Nasional (BN)component parties today met with the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, at his office at Bangunan Perdana Putra, here.
It is learnt that the meetings were a continuation of several meetings held since last week between Najib, who is also the BN chairman, and all the state BN leaders to discuss the candidates who would be contesting in the 13th general election (GE13).
In the morning, Najib had met with the MCA president, Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek, the MIC president, Datuk Seri G. Palanivel, and the Gerakan president, Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon, before meeting with the United Chinese School Committees’ Association of Malaysia (Dong Zong).
The vehicle carrying Dr Chua was seen leaving the building at 10.40am, but attempts to get his comments on the meeting were futile. Last week, Najib also held meetings with the chairmen of the respective state Umno and BN Liaison Bodies, which further indicated that the general election was getting closer.
