KOTA BAHARU, April 3 – PAS’s spiritual leader Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat said the party would have no problems if the Dewan Rakyat is dissolved tomorrow.
“The candidates list, we consider as settled… no problems,” he said when met by reporters at his office in Kota Darul Naim here today. Nik Aziz, who is also Kelantan Menteri Besar, was commenting on media reports today that hinted that the Dewan Rakyat might be dissolved tomorrow to pave the way for the 13th general election.
The reports said male Cabinet ministers had been instructed to be attired in dark suits with a red tie for a photography session tomorrow, which has been interpreted as dissolution of the Dewan Rakyat would follow. Prior to this, Nik Aziz had said that the Kelantan government would simultaneously dissolve the state assembly along with the Dewan Rakyat. Meanwhile, Kelantan State Assembly Speaker Datuk Nasuruddin Daud said the assembly’s five-year mandate ends on April 28.
