KUALA LUMPUR, April 4 – DAP veteran 
today welcomed Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak’s promise to ensure a peaceful transition of power, should the Federal or any state government switch hands after the 13th General Election (GE13). He also called on the Pakatan Rakyat members to respect the voice of the people in the election and the peaceful transition of power, whether at Federal or State level.
“(We) welcome Najib’s pledge, should there be a change in government, be it Federal or state level, there will be a peaceful transition of power,” he said in his latest Twitter post following the Dewan Rakyat dissolution today. Najib when announcing the dissolution of the Dewan Rakyat promised a peaceful transition of power should there be a change in the Federal government after the GE13.
Kit Siang said: “Najib’s commitment to respect democracy and the voice of the rakyat must be commended. Pakatan Rakyat makes a similar commitment to respect the voice of people in the GE13 and ensure a peaceful transition of power, whether Putrajaya or State,” he said.
