BN Wanita fully mobilises general election machinery

Shahrizat Abdul JalilKUALA LUMPUR, April 4 – Barisan Nasional (BN) Wanita chief Datuk Seri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil(Pic) today said, the movement had fully mobilised its election machinery following the dissolution of Dewan Rakyat, today. BN Wanita would go down and meet the target groups, including the youths, to brief the efforts taken by the BN to look after the welfare of the people and develop the nation, to ward off accusations of the opposition.

“We will fully share the truth with them. We want to win based on truth. Rhetorics and lies can destroy the nation,” she said, here, after handing over contributions to the security forces and residents affected by the intrusion in Lahad Datu, Sabah.

Selangor Umno Liaision Committee secretary Datuk Mohamed Satim Diman regarded the dissolution today as timely and expect the 13th General Election (13GE) to change the political scenario in the state.  Meanwhile, Indian Progressive Front president (IPF) Datuk M. Sambanthan said the party would campaign for BN although the party has not been accepted into the BN family and not offered a seat to contest.

He said, IPF had opened 108 general election operations rooms nationwide to ensure a BN win. Selangor PAS deputy Commissioner 111 Abdul Khalid Samad hoped the Election Commission and police would ensure a clean general election as it was the peoples’ right to pick the government would not be denied.

Selangor Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Information chief Shuhaimi Shafie said, Selangor PKR had activated operations rooms state-wide several months ago and started activities according to plans formulated. Selangor Perkasa president Abu Bakar Yahya urged all quarters to back the candidates picked by the top BN leadership and steer clear of sabotage.

Selangor Anti-Irregularities Federation (GAPS) chairman Hamidzun Khairuddin, on his part, urged Selangor Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim to hold a general election together with other states. Muslim Youth Movement of Malaysia (ABIM) President Amidi Abdul Manan hoped GE13 would be transparent, systematic, democratically held and free from any negative incidents which could tarnish the image of the nation.
