JOHOR BAHARU, April 4 – The Johor government is expected to announce the dissolution of the State Assembly tomorrow to make way for the state and parliamentary elections to be held simultaneously. The Menteri Besar’s Office has yet to make any statement on the dissolution State Assembly and is expected to happen tomorrow.
Menteri Besar Datuk Abdul Ghani Othman chaired the weekly state executive councillor meeting in Kota Iskandar today, but he did not hold a news conference after that. It is learned that Abdul Ghani later left for Kuala Lumpur today to attend the Umno Supreme Council meeting chaired by Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.
The prime minister announced the dissolution of the Dewan Rakyat today and advised the state governments to dissolve their state assemblies for the elections to be held simultaneously.
