“The people of Johor have a bright future as the economic growth and continued investment will bring wealth and prosperity to the state,” he said at a dinner with 800 members from 154 Gelang Patah Chinese Non-Governmental Organisations (NGO) here tonight.
Abdul Ghani urged Gelang Patah voters to stand by the BN government under the leadership of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.
“BN under Datuk Seri Najib will lead the country towards economic prosperity and wealth. Johor is heading towards economic prosperity,” said the Johor Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman.
Kuok Brothers Group yesterday signed a joint venture agreement with Khazanah Nasional to develop 12 acres in Puteri Harbour with Gross Development Value (GDV) of RM1 billion. Abdul Ghani said that he met Kuok last year and suggested that the billionaire consider the investment potential available in Iskandar Malaysia.
Robert Kuok has sentimental value to Johor, the state he was born, grew up and received his early education. Also present at the dinner were Gelang Patah MCA division chief, Jason Teoh and the BN candidate for Skudai state assembly seat, Liang Ah Chy. Abdul Ghani is involved in a straight fight with DAP adviser Lim Kit Siang for the Gelang Patah parliamentary seat.
