SIBU, April 4 – The Sarawak Workers’ Party(SWP) is ready to face the 13th general election as since its formation a year ago, it has been preparing for it, said its president Larry Sng Wei Shien. He said the state opposition party was confident and ready to prove itself. He was commenting on the dissolution of the Dewan Rakyat as announced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak today.
“We are prepared for the battle. The rest we shall leave it to the voters to decide,” he said in a statement after returning from a visit to interior longhouses in the Lubok Antu parliamentary constituency. Sng will contest in this Iban majority seat. It is one of the six rural seats that the party is eyeing.
Meanwhile, state DAP chairman Wong Ho Leng could not be reached for his comments as he is away on follow-up medical treatment in Singpaore today.
