Najib wants putrajaya to be youth-friendly centre for sports, fitness activities

KUALA LUMPUR, April 5 – Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak hopes the 1Malaysia Patriotic Cycling Programme will help make Putrajaya a youth-friendly centre for sports and fitness activities. The prime minister who took part in the event together with about 10,000 people yesterday, said along the route, he was able to enjoy the beauty of Putrajaya, the landmark federal government administrative centre.

“Yesterday, I joined people from all walks of life in the Program Kayuhan Patriotik 1Malaysia.

“Alhamdulillah (all praise to Allah), I managed to complete the 12km cycling journey together with the other participants,” Najib said in his latest entry in Facebook.

WO-AN276_MALAYS_G_20130403180044Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and the cabinet ministers also took part in the event. The cycling event which was mooted by Najib himself, was organised in collaboration with Putrajaya Corporation, Yayasan Rakyat 1Malaysia, Education Ministry, Information, Communications and Culture Ministry and the Royal Malaysian Police.
