Syed Ibrahim expressed the hope that he would continue to receive support from all quarters, particularly PKR members and the state’s Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalition, to ensure that the administration of the state government will stay in PH’s hands during the 15th General Election.
He replaces Hassan Abdul Karim who resigned in July.
The new chairman who helms the State Leadership Council, extended his appreciation to Hassan, who is the MP for Pasir Gudang, and deputy chairman Jimmy Puah Wee Tse, for their contributions to the party and people during their respective tenures.
At the same time, he thanked PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and all PKR state branch chiefs for their belief in him.
Last night, Anwar had announced Syed Ibrahim’s appointment following a vote that took place among the branch chiefs during a meeting the same night.
