KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia’s premier postal service provider Pos Malaysia Bhd is creating new avenues to increase the sales volume of PosLaju prepaid services as well as expanding its reach via authorised agents.
MPH Bookstores Sdn Bhd has been appointed the first PosLaju authorised agent as part of this programme.
Pos Malaysia group CEO Mohd Shukrie Mohd Salleh said on Friday that this would be the first of many appointed agents.
“Our next milestone will be to collaborate with Syarikat Prasarana Negara Bhd and Proton Edar Sdn Bhd.
“We have been in talks with those companies earlier but the deal with MPH was finalised first,” Mohd Shukrie added.
The company introduced the PosLaju authorised agent business model in December.
The service is aimed at small and medium-sized companies and entrepreneurs that can generate income through using Poslaju’s wide nationwide coverage.
Mohd Shukrie said Pos Malaysia’s year-on-year revenue growth of 20% will increase with implementation of the new authorised agent business model but did not disclose the amount.
However, he revealed the company’s revenue growth to be close to RM200 million each year.
PosLaju is a business unit of Pos Malaysia and leads the domestic courier industry.
Its leading position is also solidified by having extensive delivery areas and outlets as well as the largest number of courier fleet and personnel.
