PETALING JAYA: The announcement on the nomination and polling dates for the 13th general election by the Election Commission today will be telecast live.
It will be aired by RTM1, TV3, NTV7, 8TV and TV9, as well as AstroAwani, said officials from the respective television stations.
“We are airing it live because it is the most highly-anticipated announement after the dissolution of Parliament,” said Media Primadeputy group managing editor, TV and Radio networks, Datuk Mohd Ashraf Abdullah.
The EC will meet at its headquarters in Putrajaya at 10am, followed by a press conference where its chairman Tan Sri Abdul Aziz Mohd Yusof will announce the dates.
Apart from the nomination and polling dates, the EC will also determine the dates for postal balloting for qualified voters both locally and abroad, as well as advance voting for the military and police.
