KANGAR, April 14 – The Indian community needs to continue to be under the Barisan Nasional (BN) to ensure their future is secure, said Perlis Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Md Isa Sabu.
According to him, the government did not marginalise any community in the country to enjoy a comfortable living as each promise made to the people was fulfilled.
Speaking at the opening of the Perlis Indera Kayangan Indian Welfare Association in Arau near here last night, he said the 1Malaysia concept introduced by the leadership of Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak needed to be appreciated by all communities.
According to him, Perlis had always designed its development programmes for the people with great care for all communities including the Indians.
Md Isa hoped the Indian community would continue to participate in whatever development programmes implemented in the interest of people of various races.
To ensure that they have comfortable living, they should also continue to give their support to BN to continue administering the country in the 13th general election (GE13).
Meanwhile, the chairman of the Perlis Indera Kayangan Indian Welfare Association, Dhamodaran a/l Rajagopal said the association had always supported the noble efforts of the government in fulfilling the promises of the people.
He said the association set up two years ago would also work to ensure the Indian community continued to support BN to reciprocate the services provided by the government.
Dhamodaran said the association was confident the government would alwaysfulfill the religious requirements of the Indian community as enjoyed all this while.
