SEPANG, April 15 – Two DAP members today refuted a statement by DAP chairman Karpal Singh(Pic) that 753 delegates were given notice to attend the Central Executive Committee (CEC) meeting as reported by the media yesterday. Wong Yu Liuh and G. Manimaran, from Taman Sri Sungai Pelek branch said they did not receive any calls or letters regarding the meeting held on December 15.
“We were among the 753 delegates and want a re-election as our rights were denied,” Wong told reporters here today. He said Karpal should not defend DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng who was responsible for sending the notice.
Meanwhile, Selangor DAP publicity former secretary Tan Tuan Tat said another delegate, Ong Po Teh, also did not receive the notice. The Taman Sri Sungai Pelek former chairman said the DAP was delaying the investigation by the Registrar of Societies (ROS) to gain public sympathy.
