KUALA LUMPUR, APRIL 19 – Umno veteran Tan Sri Aishah Ghani died of old age at the Kuala Lumpur Gleneagles Hospital here today. Aishah, 90, died at 12.50pm after being warded at the hospital since last Friday due to her unstable health condition, her grandson, Ahmad Arif Astaman told Bernama.

She will be buried at the Bukit Kiara Muslim cemetery, Damansara, after the Asar prayers this afternoon.  She leaves behind four children — three sons and a daughter. Aishah was the first Malaysian woman to be appointed a senator and the second woman in the country to hold the post of minister after Malaysia achieved independence.
