PEKAN, April 22 – Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak took time off to visit 10 polling district in the Pekan parliamentary constituency today. The prime minister first visited Tanjung Batu followed by Merchong, Nenasi, Landai and Sungai Miang after launching the Tanjung Batu agropolitan project in Nenasi near here this evening.
He then visited Kelat Rendang, Shahbandar, Tanah Putih, Lamir and Sri Mahkota, spending at least 15 minutes in each district to speak with residents and asking after their wellbeing and about problems they faced.
In his brief address in Kelat Rendang, Najib expressed confidence that the BN election machinery’s spirit and commitment would ensure a major victory for the coalition in the Pekan parliamentary constituency and its four state seats, Peramu Jaya, Bebar, Chini and Pulau Manis.
“We must keep working hard to maintain our record in the 2008 general election as the parliamentary constituency that obtained the highest majority.
“Don’t focus on negative elements or anything else but on the 13th general election for Umno to win big and emerge as the strongest party,” he said.
Najib also visited and spent about 10 minutes with Kelat Rendang Umno acting chief Puadin Mohd Yazid, 64, who is suffering from neuralgia. He house his located near the Kelat Rendang polling centre.
