LABIS: DAP ex-senator S. Ramakrishnanhas been slammed for allegedly using racist remarks insulting the Indian community during his campaign here in the run-up to the May 5 polls.
Incumbent Labis MP Datuk Chua Tee Yong said a statement made by the DAP candidate for the seat that the Indian community could not be bought by MCA with using “Guinness Stout and mutton curry” was uncalled for.
“(DAP stalwart) Lim Kit Siang says that he wants a racism-free election, but he has not been listening to what the DAP candidate has been saying in Labis,” he told a press conference Monday after a walkabout in Bekok.
Chua, who is MCA Young Professionals bureau chief, said Ramakrishnan should not insult anyone just to fish for votes.
