Rais YatimJELEBU, April 23- Barisan Nasional (BN) leaders and members who were dropped or not chosen as candidates in the polls should accept the decision with an open heart and continue to serve the party, said Jelebu Umno division head Datuk Seri Dr Rais Yatim.

Describing disgruntled leaders and members who chose to contest as Independents as most ungentleman-like, he said their attitude should not be emulated.

“We must fight in the ring to the rhythm or sway to the music. If you care for the party, you should not be envious against those chosen and continue to give commitment to the party,” he said at a dinner and thanksgiving prayer at Kampung Gagu here, last night.

Rais, who is Information, Communications and Culture Minister and incumbent member of parliament for Jelebu, said despite being sidelined, he would continue to campaign for BN candidate in Jelebu Zainuddin Ismail.

Meanwhile, Zainuddin said he learned a lot from Rais on campaign strategy on how to engage voters to win their hearts and how to avoid rhetoric.  At the event, Rais presented special aid to BN candidates contesting in the
Jelebu parliamentary and state seats.
