BESUT, April 24- PAS’s struggle is increasingly confusing the people with contradictory statements over what is permitted and what is not, said Terengganu Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Said. He said among the confusing statements was when the leaders of PAS said cooperating with a Chinese party, as between Umno and MCA, was ‘haram’ (forbidden).
“But now they are pals with DAP and it is not forbidden,” he told a gathering of the BN election machinery in Kuala Besut, here, today. The event was also attended by Kuala Besut Umno chief Datuk Seri Idris Jusoh, who is also the BN candidate for the Besut parliamentary seat and Dr A Rahman Mokhtar, the coalition’s man for the Kuala Besut state seat.
He said the PAS leaders had also declared that meat slaughtered by Umno members could not be eaten and marriages conducted by Umno officials or prayers headed by Umno members were not valid. Meanwhile, Idris in his speech earlier, said the struggle of PAS late;y was getting more nonsensical.
“In the past, PAS said a woman’s voice is aurat (that which should not be exposed under Islamic law), but now they take female artistes to become candidates at GE13. Does it not involve aurat when they campaign?” he said. He hoped the people understood the struggle of PAS was getting more confusing day by day as they were casting aside ulama (religious scholars) and recruiting artistes to become tools of their struggle.
