KUALA LUMPUR, April 24 – BMW Group Malaysia achieved record breaking sales of 1,665 cars in the first quarter of the year, a growth of 9.8 per cent over the 1,516 units sold during the same period last year. The sales included that of the BMW, BMW Motorrad and MINI.
Chief Executive Officer Gerhard Pils said the record breaking performance has set another benchmark for BMW in Malaysia.
Since the beginning of the year, BMW Malaysia experienced positive growth which further emphasised the strength of the business within the country and looked forward to another successful quarter, he said in a statement.
Contributing to BMW Group Malaysia’s stellar performance in the quarter was its network of 16 BMW, four MINI and four Motorrad dealerships with more scheduled for opening in the later part of this year.
“I can confirm that by the end of 2013, we will have new dealerships in Langkawi, Seremban and Kota Kinabalu,” he added.
