KUALA LUMPUR, May 22 – BMW Group Malaysia Sdn Bhd (BMW Malaysia) aims to increase vehicle sales by 10 per cent this year from the 7,000 units in 2012.
Chief Executive Officer Gerhard Pils said that up to April 2013, BMW Malaysia had already sold 2,241 vehicles in the country, comprising the Mini, BMW and BMW Motorrads.
“Up to April 2013, we had registered a five per cent increase, when compared to the same period last year,” he told reporters after launching the seventh version of the Mini, the Mini Cooper S Paceman.
Pils said BMW Malaysia was confident that the Mini Cooper S Paceman would strengthen the brand’s business growth in the country. He also said that the Mini had always been the epitome of excitement and fun in the automotive industry.
” The Mini is iconic and has had a long and illustrious heritage. We believe this new version will take this appeal into the future, creating a new chapter in the story of the car,” he added.
