KUALA LUMPUR: PAS remains committed towards its agenda of establishing an Islamic state and implementation of hudud law despite DAP rejecting it, said PAS secertary-general Datuk Mustafa Ali.
“No Muslim can, or dare reject hudud.
“It (establishment of an Islamic state and implementaion of Islamic jurisprudence) remains PAS policy and we will continue the party’s struggle with regard to it,” he said, adding that it was an ‘eternal’ struggle that would not be abandoned by the party.
He said respective parties in Pakatan were allowed to pursue their own agenda if it did not form part of the opposition pact’s common policy framework.
“DAP has the right to reject hudud as we have agreed to disagree on the issue,” he said.
On a separate issue, Mustafa said he would address allegations over a sex video on May 3 at a ceramah in Rusila, Marang.
He refused to comment or lodge a police report over the alleged video, but said that he would defend himself in the lawsuit filed against him by Umno on April 23, which claims that he implied the party was the mastermind behind the video clip.
Meanwhile, Mustafa said that PAS was dropping out of the six-cornered fight in Kota Damansara parliamentary seat, which is being defended by Parti Sosialis Malaysia president Mohd Nasir Hashim contesting under the PKR banner.
