LUBOK ANTU (Sarawak) April 29 – Some 1,495 ‘Lifesaver M1’ water filter systems will be installed nationwide in an effort to upgrade basic infrastructure in rural areas.
Rural and Regional Development Minister Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal said of the total, Sarawak will receive 1,007 water filters, Sabah will get 300 while the remaining 188 will be installed in peninsula.
“Lubok Antu parliamentary constituency will receive 38 water filters. Voters must choose the Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate for continuous development,” he said at the launch of Lifesaver water filter system here today.
Also present was the BN candidate for Lubok Antu, William Nayallau Badak who will face Larry Sng from Sarawak Workers Party (SWP) and Nicholas Bawin from Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR). Shafie urged Lubok Antu residents to vote for candidates who can bring them change and development.
“Don’t choose a candidate from a party that contest in only six seats as it can’t form the government,” he said referring to SWP which put candidates in six seats contested by Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS).
