PETALING JAYA: It is unbelievable that the Election Commission (EC) has failed to train its staff on something very basic, said PKR president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.
She was responding to EC secretary Kamaruddin Baria’s explanation that early voters could wash away the indelible ink as the bottles were not shaken before being used.
“I find it unbelievable. Something is wrong,” said Wan Azizah at a press conference held at the party headquarters today.
Yesterday, several military officers who cast early ballots showed several opposition leaders that they could wash away the ink within minutes after it was applied.
Negeri Sembilan PAS secretary Mohammad Hassan claimed that he has photographic evidence of the claims and PKR vice-president Nurul Izzah Anwar had lodged a police report on the matter.
The ink was supposed to last at least seven days on an individual’s finger.
