KUALA LUMPUR, May 4- The Barisan Nasional candidate for the Lembah Pantai parliamentary seat, Datuk Raja Nong Chik Raja Zainal Abidin, has described the spirit and support shown by the constituents during the two weeks of campaigning for the 13th general election as extraordinary.
With only 24 hours left to polling day, he urged Lembah Pantai residents to give him a platform to continue with the various development initiatives for the area.
“The past four years, I have worked as hard as I could for Lembah Pantai with over 630 items implemented.
“Hence, I need a platform (from the voters) to carry out more programmes for the well-being of the people in this constituency,” he said after visiting the Vista Angkasa night market, here.
Raja Nong Chik said he wanted to bring, among others, the mass rapid transit (MRT) project and a primary and secondary school to Lembah Pantai, besides ensuring the recently launched 1Malaysia Library became a reality in the constituency.
One of his planned initiatives is the formation of an Urban Wellbeing Council to bring together the government and local community leaders. During his visit to the night market, Raja Nong Chik went round shaking hands and exchanging pleasantries with the traders and crowd despite the rain.
He is contesting against the incumbent Nurul Izzah Anwar from PKR and Independent candidate Rusli Baba for the Lembah Pantai seat.
