KUALA LUMPUR, May 8 – After taking his oath of office as prime minister, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said his next task would be to harmonise racial issues.
Therefore, the government needed to reach out to others in national reconciliation and moderation, he said in his Twitter post today. Najib won a new mandate when the Barisan Nasional (BN) secured 133 of the 222 parliamentary seats in last Sunday’s general election to form the federal government.
Two days ago, Najib took the oath of office as prime minister before Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah at Istana Negara, here.
Najib on Monday said the government would embark on national reconciliation efforts to unite the people who seemed divided.
