SEREMBAN, May 22- Ten Barisan Nasional (BN) state assemblymen have been named to sit on the Negeri Sembilan state executive council.
They comprise Datuk Hasim Rusdi (Labu), Abu Ubaidah Redza (Ampangan), Datuk Jalaluddin Alias (Pertang), Datuk Shamsulkahar Mohd Deli (Serting), Datuk Ismail Lasim (Senaling), Abd Razak Ab Said (Gemas).
Datuk Zaifulbahri Idris (Chembong), Tun Hairudin Abu Bakar (Bagan Pinang), Datuk Norhayati Omar (Pilah) and L. Manickam (Jeram Padang).
Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan told a news conference here today they would be sworn before Yang Dipertuan Besar Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir at the Istana Besar Seri Menanti, Kuala Pilah, south of here, tomorrow.
Mohamad said the portfolios to be held by the councillors would be decided at a meeting tomorrow evening, along with the post of State Assembly speaker.
On the absence of a Chinese representative in the proposed council, Mohamad, who is also the state BN chief, said that through the open concept practised all this while, he was confident the state government could serve the whole population of Negeri Sembilan.
As such, he said, the Chinese community should not worry as their interests and affairs would not be sidelined. The MCA had stated that it would not take up any post in the government if it fared worse in the 13th general election than in 2008.
In the 13th general election, the BN formed the state government after winning 22 of the 36 state seats.
