Education Ministry is determined in giving quality education to all

idris-jusohKUALA LUMPUR, May 28- The Education Ministry is determined to provide quality education to Malaysians regardless of race and religion or in towns or rural areas.

Second Education Minister Datuk Seri Idris Jusoh (photo) said in efforts to achieve developed nation status, the government always gave priority to educational agencies to generate human capital for the future.

Numerous efforts had been carried out by the government to provide high quality education such as through the setting up of residential schools (SBP) nationwide.

“Through the National Key Result Area (NKRA) initiative in the education sector, 38 SBP have been upgraded to High Performance Schools last year and this is a big achievement for all educational staff in SBP,” he said when opening the 40th SBP Excellence Day Award 2013 atthe CIDB Convention Centre here, tonight.

The government also provided an additional allocation of RM500 million to implement the 2013-2025 Malaysian Education Development Plan and RM1 billion additional allocation for development, upgrading and school maintenance whereby RM100 million had been allocated to SBP.

During the ceremony, Idris also handed over the 2012 Overall Best SBP Award  to Kolej Tunku Khursiah, Seremban which also won the 2012 SBP House Distinction Award while Sekolah Menengah Seri Puteri, Cyberjaya, Selangor received the 2012 SBP Overall Best SBP Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) Award 2012.

Sekolah Menengah Sains Hulu Selangor received the 2012 SBP Overall Best Award for Penilaian Menengah Rendah (PMR), Sekolah Datuk Abdul Razak, Seremban received the 2012 SBP Co-curricular Distinction Award and Sekolah Menengah Sains Miri, Sarawak garnered the 2013 SBP Overall Hostel Distinction Award.
