MELAKA, May 30- Melaka State Financial Officer Datuk Naim Abu Bakar has been appointed as the Melaka State Secretary effective June 1.
Chief Minister Datuk Idris Haron said Naim’s appointment was to succeed Datuk Omar Kaseh who has been appointed as the Director-General of the Malaysian Administrative Modernisation and Manpower Planning Unit (Mampu), Prime Minister’s Department.
“We congratulate Datuk Omar Kaseh on his new appointment and welcome Datuk Naim as the new State Secretary,” he told reporters after chairing the State Exco meeting, here today.
Omar’s appointment in Mampu is to succeed Datuk Mohamad Zabidi Zainal who has been appointed as the Director-General of Public Service effective March 15.
Meanwhile, Naim, 55, said he was thankful to Idris and the state government for giving their full trust to him to shoulder the new responsibility placed on him.
Naim, who hails from Parit Melana, Durian Tunggal, Alor Gajah, holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Geography from the University of Malaya and had held the post of Melaka State Financial Officer since April 7, 2008.
