MAY 31- The police custody of BCCI chief N. Srinivasan’s son-in-law Gurunath Meiyappan and actor Vindu Dara Singh in the IPL spot-fixing case ends on Friday.
Actor Vindu Dara Singh had first named Gurunath Meiyappan during his interrogation by the Mumbai Police.
He has alleged that he used to place bets on behalf for Meiyappan on several IPL matches.
While Meiyappan has said that he used to bet, he has denied allegations that he was into fixing.
Apart from the duo, who are accused in the spot-fixing case, police custody of bookie Prem Taneja and hawala operator Alpesh Patel also comes to an end on Friday.
The Mumbai Police is likely to ask for an extension of their custody. This comes as the police continue to interrogate actor Vindu and bookies Taneja and Patel regarding the allegations of betting and fixing in the IPL.
