MASKUALA LUMPUR, May 31 – Malaysia Airlines (MAS) will increase flight frequency from Kuala Lumpur to Phuket to 26 times weekly, with the introduction of one new daily service from June 1.

The national carrier is offering all-in return economy class promotional fares at only RM222 for travel from Kuala Lumpur to Phuket.

Booking is from now until June 10, valid for travel from June 1 to July 31 this year.

MAS Senior Regional Vice-President, Malaysia, Muzammil Mohamad, said Phuket is a great tourist attraction, one of the few places where there is always something to do, rain or shine.

“Malaysians have always had Phuket as one of their must-go places. The beautiful islands, the unique blend of colonial and Chinese architecture and the beautiful temples such as Wat Chalong are all a definite crowd puller,” he added.

In a statement today, MAS said this promotional fare is valid on MH798, MH799 and MH794 only. It said MH798 will depart daily from Kuala Lumpur at 4.55am and arrive in Phuket at 5.10am (all times are local time, with Thailand being one hour behind Malaysia), while the return flight MH799 will depart Phuket at 6.15am and arrive in Kuala Lumpur at 8.45am.

MAS said this addition was incorporated following greater demand from the market.

The existing MH794 departs from Kuala Lumpur at 1.05pm and arrives in Phuket at 1.20pm.

A two-class configured Boeing 737-800 aircraft with 144 economy class seats and 16 business class seats will be used for this service.
