KUALA LUMPUR, June 22 – Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) has received a letter of award and notice to proceed for the provision of facility management services for airport operational facilities and ancillary building at the New Doha International Airport, in Doha, Qatar.
The award and notice to proceed was received via MAHB subsidiary, Malaysia Airports Consultancy Services Sdn Bhd (MACS). A formal contract will be entered into between the Qatar government represented by the New Doha International Airport Steering Committee and MACS tentatively by the end of July 2013.
The project is valued at 100.60 million Qatari riyal (RM83.28 million) with a project period of three years, with an option to extend for a further three years at the price of 108.68 million Qatari riyal (RM89.96 million).
In a filing to Bursa Malaysia today, MAHB said it was committed to the fundamental objective of long-term growth.
“This will enable MAHB (through MACS) to continue to pursue opportunities in the development, operation and management of airports overseas,” it said.
The scope of works entails comprehensive facilities maintenance services, interim security services and custodial and janitorial services for the various airport operational facilities and ancillary buildings at the NDIA.
