KUALA BESUT, July 10- Umno information chief Datuk Ahmad Maslan said Kuala Besut voters should choose to retain Barisan Nasional (BN) for the state seat to ensure stability of the state’s administration, among the four main factors.
He said the voters should not treat the upcoming Kuala Besut by-election as a game plan or attempt at change as the wrong choice could end up in long-term disappointment.
“The foremost factor for choosing BN in Kuala Besut is to ensure the BN-led state administration’s stability,” he said after addressing Rela leaders at the Kuala Besut Rela Community Service Centre in Kampung Baharu, here, yesterday.
Ahmad, who is also Deputy Finance Minister, said the second factor was that retaining BN in Kuala Besut would prove support and respect for the confidence of the national leadership in Datuk Seri Idris Jusoh, who was appointed as a full minister recently.
Besides that, he said, Kuala Besut folk needed development that could only be provided by the BN government.
Ahmad said various development programmes had been planned by the late Kuala Besut incumbent assemblyman Dr A Rahman Mokhtar following his victory in the 13th general election, for the benefit of the residents.
He said Kuala Besut folk also needed to show their support for the prime minister who had contributed a lot to the state and country’s development, by voting for BN in the upcoming by-election.
Ahmad also said that his ministry would continue to assist Bumiputeras in business, in line with the national leadership’s vision of turning Malaysia into a developed nation with its people earning high incomes.
He said the assistance could be in the form of loans through the entrepreneurs fund and placing them in strategic business locations in the major cities and towns.
